Inter-Urban: 2012 Urbana Land Arts Collaborators: Chris Carl and Paul Howe
The Inter-Urban project was collaboration between Chris Carl, Paul Howe, and Bobby Zokaites. Concerned with the stewardship of the natural and local history we created a mobile architecture, centered around three cultural artifacts: a potato chip truck, a jib crane designed for the railroad, and an old wooden grain elevator. In the period of one month the project team designed and built the Inter-Urban, which was installed for four short days on Heartland Pathway’s right-of-way located between Monticello and Cisco, Illinois in the shadow of the Amenia Elevator.
